Man and Dog Reunited 2 Weeks After Car Theft

Although it was a little late in coming, Christmas finally arrived for a worried pet owner in Travelers Rest, South Carolina.

Last month, Jason Tharp’s SUV, with his dog inside, was taken from the Walmart parking lot of this small city just outside Greenville.

Tharp begged for the return of his 6-month-old German pointer, Lexi, via newspaper ads and internet postings. All of his efforts, along with help from the community, paid off two weeks later when a tip led police to the stolen property.

Although several items are missing from the vehicle, Tharp says he has the most important thing back — his best friend, Lexi.

Two men have been charged with grand larceny in the case, according to police.
